Preliminary Research
Disco began in the United States in the 1970's, stylized around American nightlife and generally seen as a mixture of Latin, funk, and pop. It began as an underground movement but in the late seventies it grew to pop culture. Surprisingly, this genre fit so perfectly within a decade, beginning in 1970 and fading into obscurity beginning in 1980. Some Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, Village People, Earth Wind and Fire, The Tramps, Donna Summers. This genre is often very popular with African Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans, Italian Americans,[1][2] LGBT people (especially African-American and white gay men), and psychedelic hippies in Philadelphia and New York City. Artists in the disco genre often market themselves as fun loving bands with loud funky music that makes people feel happy and excited. Fitting to the Genre's name, Disco is often performed in, of course, Discos (known as discotheque), and night clubs around america.

-Discography: Jeffery and the Gang has a history throughout the seventies of developing popular disco tunes. Beginning with their self titled album, “Jeffery and the Gang”, the band hit the core of disco style and went to its roots. The album performed moderately well and was performed in nightclubs around America. Their second album, “Jeffery and the Gang: A Night in Philadelphia” sought to blend core disco aspects with 70s jazz, featuring for the first time their saxophonist and trumpet player. Their EP “Neverending” went with a more complex style of disco that was meant to show their variety in playing styles. The most recent album to date, released in 1979, titled “Sendoff” was meant to signify that the band was aware of the genre’s decay. They went all out in writing the most synth heavy disco tunes they could possible, and the album was a massive hit within the first few months of its release. Unfortunately, due to the death of the genre, the albums success exponentially decayed later on. In more recent history, there has been no word of Jeffrey and the Gang releasing new albums, even if they are still considered active.
-History/Formation: (Quote from the lead Guitarist, Jeffery, taken from an interview.)
Jeffery: the band was formed in the late ’70s and we were all just drunk in a karaoke bar and we all got up to sing the great song of the Trammps, disco inferno. We all loved the way that we sang and become a band but became stuck on what to sing so we went back to that very same bar and we decided to write disco songs. We all had a special place in our heart for disco, so we went all out in the 70s to signify an era. We were fully aware that the genre was dying off, but our love of disco was too strong. We stuck to it till the end, and later, into the 80s, while our name as a popular disco band is gone, we still stick to what we love and play at small venues in the hopes that disco will see a revival.
-Milestones:
1st album: “Jeffery and the Gang” provided a platform for the band to expand into what it has become today
As they continued to make albums throughout the 70s they made many advances in disco and used a complex style many loved. Even though disco has died of they still have some few faithful followers, looking for some sort of comeback.
